Injection & compression moulding specialists

Plastic components, engineered and made in Essex.

TekComp designs the tooling, moulds the parts and finishes them ready for assembly — backed by an in-house toolroom, a 3D print farm and decades of process know-how.

What we do

One engineering business, three disciplines

From a single site in Brightlingsea we run production moulding, a research and development programme for new plastic parts and processes, and a technology team that keeps other businesses' IT running.

Plastic Moulding & Tooling

Injection and compression moulding, mould-tool design and manufacture, trade moulding and full post-moulding finishing.

Moulding & tooling

Research & Development

Developing new manufacturing methods for plastic parts — materials trials, prototype tooling, process proving and design-for-manufacture support.

Our R&D work

IT & Technology Support

Practical IT support for local business — systems, networks, hardware and the shop-floor technology that keeps manufacturers productive.

In-house capability

Design, tooling and production under one roof

Our facilities are built around the manufacture of injection and compression plastic mouldings and the mould tools that produce them. The in-house toolroom is supported by a range of CAD/CAM systems, DNC-linked to our CNC machinery, so a project can move from drawing to proven tool to moulded part without leaving site.

Secondary operations — ultrasonic welding, wire cutting and stripping, assembly and packaging — mean parts leave us ready to use.

How a project runs

From concept to packed parts

Design & feasibility

We review your part with you, advise on material and geometry, and quote the tooling and piece price.

Tooling & prototyping

The toolroom cuts the mould tool; 3D printing and prototype tools prove the design before steel is committed.

Sampling & approval

First-off samples are measured on the CMM and submitted for your sign-off.

Production & finishing

Moulding, secondary operations, assembly and packaging — delivered to schedule.
